The story

Hellenist was founded in Paris in 2024 by Jean-David Jacoby. His lifelong connection with Greece, the Aegean and its islands provides the starting point for a fragrance world where mythology remains part of a shared memory. The brand calls itself a temple of memories and joins that idea to French perfumery craft.

The Mythology Collection tells five different stories. Les Bras de Morphée and À l'Ombre d'Artémis show its powdery and green sides, while Le Chant d'Achille, Les Dieux aux Bains and La Nuit des 300 interpret light, water, warmth and musk from different angles.

01 · Founder

A personal connection to the Aegean

Jean-David Jacoby founded Hellenist in Paris in 2024. The official biography says that a family trip to Santorini at the age of six shaped him. He returned to Greece for many years and joined his experience in the luxury and fragrance industry to his fascination with the Aegean.

02 · Concept

Myths as olfactory images

Hellenist presents its Mythology Collection as a passage through legends and forgotten heroes. Les Bras de Morphée turns the god of dreams into a soft iris world. Le Chant d'Achille joins orange blossom and immortelle to the image of the Greek hero. Les Dieux aux Bains looks toward the freshness of ancient baths.

03 · Material and design

Mediterranean sources, French production

The brand describes Hellenist as a Mediterranean house inspired by Greece and made in France. It names paper, wood, glass and ceramic as deliberate materials and points to upcycled and recyclable components as well as FSC paper. Carlo Amen extends that material world with illustrations Hellenist describes as neo-cubist. À l'Ombre d'Artémis and La Nuit des 300 show different readings of mythology.

04 · Recognition

Early recognition for a young house

Hellenist reports two Indies Awards presented by Cosmétique Magazine on 11 October 2024: a gold medal for the niche fragrance brand and a founder award for Jean-David Jacoby. Les Bras de Morphée was also named a finalist at the Fragrance Foundation Awards France 2025. These are documented recognitions, not a ranking of perfumery as a whole.
