The story
Mystikum is a Berlin fragrance brand operated by Scherk GmbH. Its official heritage narrative looks to the glamour of the 1920s and translates it into a contemporary collection with clear, jewel-toned flacon design.
The brand describes its work as a meeting of traditional craftsmanship, modern perfumery, and sensual storytelling. Compositions by Mark Buxton, Ralf Schwieger, and Alexandre Illan give that idea three distinct creative signatures.
01 · Berlin heritage

An echo of the 1920s

Mystikum anchors its identity in the Berlin fragrance history described by the brand as belonging to the 1920s. The heritage page presents a perfume that swept through Berlin, Paris, and New York. For the current collection, that past is not a museum piece but a visual and narrative point of departure. Mystikum Nightfall in the City of Kings translates the idea into a modern olfactory scene.

02 · A modern icon

Art Deco in the present

The brand carries the visual language of its historical reference into heavy, geometric flacons in jewel-like colours. The official brand page presents Mystikum as a celebration of modern individuality and timeless elegance. Mystikum The Color of Air expresses that attitude in a lighter, more transparent way, while Mystikum Moonlight Ceremony shows the darker, smoky side of the brand world.

03 · Three fragrance signatures

Compositions with distinct signatures

Mystikum works with Mark Buxton, Ralf Schwieger, and Alexandre Illan. At Parfinity, Buxton and Schwieger have dedicated perfumer pages. Mystikum Saddles of the Silk Road bears Schwieger’s signature, while Mystikum The Need to Fly shows Alexandre Illan’s fresh, green-leathery interpretation.

6/10
Immediately smoky, leathery, resinous, woody, incense and birch tar set the tone and a rough form of oud pushes its way in, oh yes and don't forget the tea without sugar. A purely tart piece, without any perspective. Everything thrown in that gives a dark image. Despite saffron, not for me. Nothing inspiring. Balance in the sense of 'everything remains dark'. I don't want to smell like this all day.

To me, it smells like an ancient bar with sofas and furniture from grandma's old living room mixed with her perfume... Didn't blow me away. Still, good longevity and surely someone will be found for this part of the niche.
