The story
Son Venin is an independent perfume brand from Oslo. Dag Laska describes his background in identity design and his passion for perfume and sensory experiences. The brand grew from the Norwegian design studio Bleed, which connects Son Venin with Laska and Svein Haakon Lia.
The fragrances translate Nordic heritage, personal memories, and Scandinavian thinking into a contemporary continental olfactory language. Son Venin works with both spare and layered formulas, treating scent, bottle, and packaging as parts of one coherent concept.
01 · Origin

When identity design becomes olfactory

Son Venin grew from the Norwegian design environment of Bleed. Dag Laska brings a background in identity design and a passion for sensory experiences. Together with Svein Haakon Lia, he shaped a brand where visual restraint meets personal associations with scent.

02 · Nordic heritage

Oslo with a continental outlook

The brand describes its roots as Scandinavian while remaining open to memories, places, and visual impressions from around the world. Le Voleur makes that attitude tangible: a clear, almost architectural presentation meets iris, incense, and pale woods.

03 · Craft and form

From spare accords to layered compositions

Son Venin describes a collection that moves from pure expressions to complex formulas. Its eau de parfums are vegan and cruelty-free, while the solid perfumes contain beeswax and are therefore not vegan. Posthume concentrates this interest in material, memory, and origin through cinnamon, clove, tobacco, leather, and smoke.
04 · Recognition

Posthume and the Art and Olfaction Awards

Posthume won Gold in the Independent category at the 2020 Art and Olfaction Awards. The official award release credits Rosine Courage as perfumer. The fragrance therefore represents both Son Venin's Norwegian starting point and its collaboration with experienced perfumers from the French fragrance industry.

A very skin-close, creamy ambroxan scent interwoven with musk, plum, and cardamom. A fragrance without any rough edges.

It is very similar to Sir Santal by Birkholz. Personally, it's not for me.
