Pinyon Pine

Pinyon pine is native to the southwestern United States, particularly in regions of Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, and Utah. The essential oil is typically extracted through steam distillation of the needles, branches, and sometimes the resin of the pinyon pine tree, which grows in dry, mountainous terrain.

Pinyon pine has been important to Native American cultures for centuries, used for food (pine nuts), medicine, and in traditional ceremonies. Indigenous peoples of the Southwest used various parts of the tree for practical and spiritual purposes.
