Galloway

Clean freshie, but again in a slightly boring way. A good scent for if you don't care for the day. A fragrance fitting the 'let's just put something on and go with it' aesthetic, in my opinion.

Galloway is a fragrance that does many things right without truly touching me. The first impression is fresh, slightly sweet, and well-balanced. Citrus notes and a peppery spice mesh cleanly; everything seems well-groomed, modern, and accessible. A classic spring feeling sets in immediately. Upon repeated smelling, this impression remains largely constant. I clearly perceive both the freshness and the spice, but they merge very early into a homogeneous overall picture. This is exactly where the problem lies for me: the individual facets are harmonious, but they develop little tension or depth. Compared to similar fragrances, I noticeably lack complexity. Therefore, Galloway still has to prove itself on the skin. My expectation is not so much a major transformation, but rather the question of whether the base notes bring enough substance to give the scent character. If that isn't the case, it remains for me a proper, functional spring fragrance – pleasant, but interchangeable. Galloway is certainly well-crafted and will appeal to many, specifically because it doesn't challenge anyone. For me personally, however, it has remained too slick and too self-contained so far. A fragrance that works without really triggering anything.
