Hibiscus Mahajad

For me, one of those fragrances where you immediately realize that it is something special. Fruity, floral, sweet and at the same time warm and spicy. The combination of hibiscus, rose, leather and amber feels incredibly luxurious and has a really strong presence. Very striking and definitely not a scent for everyone – but if you like it, it is truly addictive.

The fragrance screams very loudly at first: 'HERE I AM!' Anyone who likes quiet scents should keep their distance here - at least initially, because as loudly as it enters the room, it unfortunately doesn't stay that way on my skin. Over time, it became closer to the skin; outside, I could hardly perceive it anymore. The first words that came to mind during the opening: floral, synthetic, fruity ... burning car tires. As always, I saved the scent pyramid for the drydown and let my nose do its thing first. And lo and behold: the burning tire doesn't seem to have been completely far-fetched. Leather, ambrette seeds, cinnamon, and mint could at least explain why my nose constructed this slightly rubbery, heated impression from it. The burning rubber briefly catapulted me to Fast & Furious: Tokyo Drift, but it was by no means prominent or even annoying. What bothered me much more was the clearly synthetic feel of the fragrance for me. Behind it, however, an increasingly juicy fruitiness emerged. At first, I couldn't decide between peach, melon, pomegranate, and apple – after a look at the scent pyramid, the pomegranate then got its name. In the drydown, I clearly perceive vanilla, which softly wraps itself around the juicy fruitiness and the floral notes. And this is exactly where I find Hibiscus Mahajád incredibly beautiful. If it smelled like this from the start, I could be tempted. But the path there was a bit too synthetic and bumpy for me.

I thought it would be more in the direction of Bissap in terms of scent, but not really. Which isn't bad; for every flower or floral lover, it is a must-try. In the drydown after a few hours, there is a beautiful, not too overpowering vanilla.
